How and Why I Kin
I use both spirtual and pyschological reasonings as to why I Kin things, both with my Otherkins and Fictionkins. Even though I have and do make jokes about my kins and know how to take a joke about kinning, I also do take them seriously and find that Kin is very important to my identity and spirtuality. This is why I rarely if ever drop Kins, even if I find myself not connceting to them as much anymore.
Some of my kins I view much more spiritually, and others I view much more pyschologically. What I mean with this is some of my kins I view as past lives and find myself deeply connceted too them because of that, while others I believe are more so based on my current life and how my brain tends to "imprint" on fictional things in order to understand itself and the world around it or simply express itself. To me, both types of kins are very important and mean a lot to me.
I am also a synpath and coping-linker. Personally, these characters/things tend to feel very different to me then my kins with only bare similarites.
Synpaths to me are characters I find myself heavily relating to, but don't actually see myself as. Their struggles, feelings, and ideas are ones I've had myself and so seeing characters face the same things feels comforting and naming them "Synpaths" is helpful. "Kin Synpaths" are kins I have that spreately I also heavily relate to and empathize with. They are still Kins, but if I where to never have been a Fictionkin I would have still held these characters close to my heart and identity.
Coping-links are characters I explictly use only to help cope with my own emotional trauma and guilt complex. I can and do at times use my Kins to cope with identity issues and feelings, but outside of that I also literally view myself as those characters/things. Coping-Links for me are characters I wouldn't otherwise relate to unless it was for my trauma/guilt complex, and use these characters to vent these emotions out during heavy epsiodes.
I'm personally completely fine with doubles of any of my kins! Sometimes I post kinvial but it's never really serious and often times I really love doubles! Kin Twins I love you!
List Name Explantation
So I've spreated my list into 2 different lists called Important and Lesser.
The reason I've done this is personal ease and accessablity. Important is named Important due to me still feeling very connceted to these kins and thinking about them often, while Lesser is named Lesser to me just generally thinking less about these kins and not paying as much attention to them for whatever reason (such as bad assoications, dislike of the media, general disinterst, haven't interacted with the source in awhile etc).
Kins on the Lesser list don't mean I don't kin them any less, just that I don't think about them as much or pay attention to them.
